Miracle Box

Once, I was asked by someone about how, where or when I can get some ideas for my work. I could not reply it directly but only smile since I think it was a funny and somewhat ridiculous question to begin with. Why? because it is the same with asking why people do what they like to do.

My work is something I like to do and not only 'work'. It is like a challenge to interpret people's minds if it is related to customers and walking in my own dream land if it is for me. Drawing does this justification of making it a real thing out of my own perception towards what I feel when I do it. I guess that is the part which other people might not see it in the same way. In addition, drawing is more than just stretch out and pull some lines in a blank paper or in computer to make a beautiful picture to see, but your mind and soul drawn at the same time you do it. It will reach out to people in the same vibe as your mood when you make it. That is why this kind of work is not 'work only' but more like sharing your thoughts and feeling for others. For me, I just let my hand leads the way when I draw something without thinking too much about mistakes I probably make in the process and result. I literary not thinking at all when I do it. It takes guts, persistence, passion and years of learning but it is worth it. Practically the best remedy I can get whenever thinking is becoming too much and turn it all up to focus on just one thing.

What matters the most above all is the miracle box. A box where you can find bunch of cool imaginary things to put in your creation called ideas. You can never tell when or where or how on earth this box 'poof' suddenly appears out of nowhere, because it is depend on your own effort. You can only do it by finding something that can trigger its existence. Perhaps this is the answer for the question I've mentioned above. Miracle box a.k.a ideas, is there in every person although it certainly not in the same shape or form. Let's say, one day it will be gold and another day is only a priceless rock. However, if you keep honing the skill, one day it will turn out to be diamonds and who knows, it'll make you rich. In term of : as long as you like and enjoy what you do (not limited to drawing actually), whatever that is. Just for note though, miracle box sometimes is not there when you need one, especially in stressful environment, lost concentration and deadly deadline with ugly mood. The best way would be the great skill of surviving and struggling in those situations by mastering the mind to be intact.

Perhaps, this is just a nonsensical thought of mine, being imaginatively explain something out of proportion, but truly, this is my thought's honest truth related to what I do.

*Mood: Out of the blue want to write something after quite some times.
* Pic: my wannabe 3D-like wood box  with bunch of sparkling lights back then several years ago.

Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s

A couple of months ago I was into watching old classical movies from the 40s, 50s and 60s with distinctive beautiful actresses whom one of them is Audrey Hepburn.

At first, I did a lot of reading through Wikipedia for her biography and movie references.  Breakfast at Tiffany’s was one of her biggest and iconic role throughout her career and landed an Oscar award in her hand.

However, the trivia as well as controversy about this movie was one thing, the writer whom his book the movie was based on, wanted Marilyn Monroe (who eventually declined out of fear for bad reputation due to the role background) to portray the main character and hated Audrey for taking the role. Anyway, I will not discuss this any further nor the story of the movie but only the costumes worn by Audrey in the 60s styles dress and coat, also the other woman in the story who got a very interesting coats.

Most of the times she wore this iconic black sleeveless dress with variation of either long hand gloves, signature big shades/eye glasses, white scarf or several types of hat. Other than that she mostly use gentle color coats, dress, shirt and sleek long pants and jeans. I also noticed the other woman in the story wore several nice blazer and coats matched with elegant turban or other hats. Somehow I like the color tones in all wardrobes of this movie, it was so oldie but Goldie.
I screen-captured from the movie for the clothes for referring to what I’ve written above while singing the famous "Moon river" song.
